| Matthew Haas began his motorsports obsession in 1997 after visiting an autocross with Nitzan at a small airport in Santa Maria, CA. Since then he has gone on to participate in dozens of HPDE events and several more autocrosses. Competitively, his biggest accomplishment is finishing first in class in the 2002 Open Track Challenge with Nitzan Wilnai. |
Lusting after exotic cars as a kid, Joel immersed himself in hours of reading about the latest and greatest cars that came out of Japan, Germany, England and the US. Years later, when it came time to pick a major for college, he chose mechanical engineering so he could attempt to get a job in the automotive industry. During college he found the Sports Car Club @ UCSB and was then introduced to club racing. After attempting to open track his own car and repair what broke, he began helping other people work on their cars. His senior design project was to help turn Matt's RX7 into a competitive racecar for the Inaugural Open Track Challenge. Following the success with the RX7, the Camaro was next. And since he's now intimately familiar with two of the three racecars, he is now the Official Crew Chief/Pit Crew for the race team known as Both Feet In Motorsports. If you don't have a racecar to drive, you might as well work on someone else's... |
